Can I get a contract for roof?
I had a major hail storm. A couple of days later, walked a roofing company roofing checks. I checked mine and said it had hail and I signed what I thought it was just a way for him to hail my insurance company (It was hot and humid out and have no power for 3 days so it was not until reading at all). It was actually a contract to do the job. The problem is in the small print that says you have to give them the receipt amount of the insurance company. I'm a rip-off of the insurance company, but I would have an appointment to the couple and maybe go with someone who could cover my deductible. I feel soooo I took advantage of and feel stupid for not reading what I was signing. I had 3 days SWOT for the contract, but it took me 5 days to read the book. Is it possible to somehow get this?
Dear Stupidguy: That was stupid … but understandable. Follow some of the other suggestions, the first of them to see if roofers are in fact licensed. Second, contact a lawyer: initial consultations are usually free, although the 10-minute variety. Third, if you have not paid anything to roofers, you're more in control of the situation to them. These types of sound, like the predators that have the panic, stress and / or exploit the ignorance of people. For the remaining firm (and informed as to their state licensing Better Business Bureau record, etc) can probably defend him, and go, they have other fish to reel in. and talk to your insurance company about the new procedure correct: that the work performed and obtain payment or reimbursement. INS. co. might even have a list of approved roofers who have dealt with or recommend. But, please do not sign anything without reading and understanding it.
