In a clarinet, why people use special curved wooden barrels?

Why the special use of wood in the form of bells? Are you really affect tone? Can you help with jazz? Or are for the classic sound?

You're probably thinking of the barrels and bells made of cocobolo and other exotic woods that have become fashionable among clarinetists in the last 10 years. These are made by the company Backun in Vancouver. Players using these special barrels and bells, such as the Philadelphia Orchestra, Ricardo Morales, insist they improve the tone of the clarinet. I do not know of any jazz musicians to the used, but that does not mean they do not.
