Berkshire Steam

Vivid colors of autumn in New England, the spectacular rocky coastlines, majestic mountains, delicious seafood, and friendly people attract millions of visitors to the region each year. These six states of New England, located in scenic northeastern U.S., are perfect for travel, especially from May to October. Since winters are very cold and snowy, the plan of the unit in the warmer months, when roads are safe and the scenery is at its best. Many travelers plan their units in October, when fall foliage is spectacular.

This driving tour of New England has many of the regional highlights. It will take you around two weeks and the total distance is about 800 kilometers.

Boston Before you start your drive, take a day or two to take a look around Boston. If you enjoy walking, you can follow the Freedom Trail for a look at some of the historical sights of the city, have a coffee in Quincy Market, then finish with a stroll through Boston Common. Keen shoppers can go to the luxury boutiques of Newbury Street and the rest can take a "Duck Tour" of the city, on land and river. Consider friendly stay at the Copley Square Hotel, located near the main attractions of Boston.

The coast of New England Rise early and northward along the north coast, through coastal New Hampshire and even in Kennebunkport, Maine (85 miles). Just before Kennebunkport, in the city of Bangor, there are 120 outlet stores, full of great deals on a stretch of a mile. Plan to stay for one or two nights in Kennebunkport, where you can go whale watching, fishing sea, canoeing and kayaking and take a boat trip lobster. The Nonantum Resort, right on the river, is a great place to stay. The cafeteria menu includes delicious steamed lobster fresh fried oysters and clams.

The White Mountains the next day drive takes you to the scenic White Mountains in New Hampshire (116 miles). Along the way, you will pass through North Conway, where you can take a trip of 11 miles through the mountains on the Conway Scenic Railroad or may go to Mount Washington for a strong increase of the top of the highest peak in the state. Plan to stay for a couple of nights. The Resort Rivergreen, riverside Pemigewassett, near Lincoln has plenty of family activities throughout the year.

The green mountains or on the fifth day, the 145-mile journey takes him to the Green Mountains in Vermont. Consider staying at Stowe for two nights, and make the half-day excursion on the river canoe mad, or is can explore the countryside by bike Stowe Recreation Path. Plan to stay a night or two in Williamstown, just on the Massachusetts border. An ideal place to stay is the Williams Inn.

Newport Classic England now her new album takes you south through the Berkshires, and Newport, Rhode Island (186 miles). Plan to spend a couple days to browse through trendy boutiques of the city, art and antique galleries, and to admire the luxury yachts moored in the port of Newport. Cape Cod The last stop of his trip Cape Cod is beautiful, just 82 miles east of Newport. You can cycle, walk, shopping and galleries, and relax on the beautiful beaches.
